Experience Telluride like a local

Tue Feb 18 2020 07:00:00 GMT+0000 (Coordinated Universal Time)

Dine and drink like a local After taking in the views and building up a hearty appetite, there’s nothing better than taking advantage of Telluride’s many culinary treasures, including local haunts where the prices are as good as the conversation. For a low-key burger and an ice-cold microbrew, stop in to Smuggler’s Brewpub, which boasts a variety of burgers from classic to veggie. When you’re craving a morning pastry or a sandwich on fresh-baked bread, head to Baked in Telluride. If brunch is more your speed, Floradora Saloon serves up breakfast favorites alongside creative recipes every day of the week. For the all-important cocktail or post-ski (or hike) beer, there’s no shortage of places to grab a cold one. Choose from 60 or more beers, all reasonably priced, at Last Dollar Saloon (affectionately known as The Buck). For a more refined option, There Bar melds a small bite restaurant and quirky cocktail bar in one intimate space. Try one of their “bougie classics” like the Patagonian tonic, which melds trakal spirit, aloe liqueur, cage free egg whites, Fevertree tonic and fresh lime. And no trip to this mountain town is complete without trying a pint at Telluride Brewing Company. If you can’t make up your mind, try a flight to sample several of the varied brews.
